The Mahakal Plaza with its large central pond and the impressive Rudrasagar Lake surrounding the temple are central to the visual experience. It can get quite crowded, especially during festivals and auspicious days, but the sheer scale of the complex helps manage the flow of people. The evening aarti and light shows are often captivating.
