. I'm famous for being one of India's first sea bridges and for my unique Scherzer rolling lift section that allows ships to pass underneath.

Train travel, photography – I am primarily a railway bridge, so the main way to experience me is by train. There are designated spots for photography from nearby vantage points. While there isn't specific parking for the bridge itself, parking is available in Pamban and Rameswaram .
Good to know
India's first sea bridge – I was India's first sea bridge, opened in 1914. My unique central lifting span, designed to allow ships to pass, is a significant engineering feat. While the old bridge is no longer in active rail service for passenger trains, a new parallel bridge is under construction to continue the legacy.
