What is this place?

Ancient Temple – This is a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Saptashrungi Nivasini. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, significant pilgrimage sites in Shaktism, where parts of the Goddess Sati's body are believed to have fallen. The temple is nestled amidst seven hills, which is where its name "Saptashrungi" (seven peaks) originates.

Timings and Accessibility – The temple typically opens early in the morning and closes in the evening, though specific timings can vary. There are approximately 500 steps to reach the main temple, but a ropeway (Udan Khatola See Details ) is also available for those who prefer not to climb or have mobility challenges. Parking facilities are usually available at the base of the hill.

Shakti Peetha – Saptashrungi is considered a half Shakti Peetha, where it is believed the right arm of Goddess Sati fell. The idol of the goddess is a magnificent 10-foot-tall figure with 18 arms, each holding a different weapon, symbolizing her power and protection. The temple is a significant center for Tantric practices and attracts devotees from various spiritual traditions.
