Indore Zoo, also known as Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya
Zoological Park – I am a zoological park, commonly known as Indore Zoo or Kamla Nehru Prani Sangrahalaya. My primary purpose is to house a diverse collection of animals from various species, providing a space for their conservation and public education. I am located in the heart of Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Animal Encounters – People typically visit me to observe a wide array of wildlife, including mammals, birds, and reptiles, in a naturalistic setting. I am a popular destination for families, students, and nature enthusiasts looking for a recreational and educational experience.
Diverse Wildlife – Here, you can expect to encounter a variety of animals, from majestic big cats and primates to colorful birds and reptiles. The enclosures are designed to offer visitors clear views while providing a suitable habitat for the animals. The atmosphere is generally lively, especially on weekends and holidays.
Explore & Observe – My visitors enjoy strolling through the well-maintained pathways, observing the animals, and learning about different species. Photography is a popular activity, and there are often opportunities for educational insights into wildlife conservation.
Cooler Months – The most comfortable time to visit me is during the cooler months, from October to March, when the weather is pleasant for walking outdoors. Mornings and late afternoons are generally preferred to avoid the midday heat and to see animals at their most active.
General Access – I am generally accessible to visitors with well-defined pathways. Entry typically involves a ticket, and facilities like washrooms and drinking water are usually available. It's advisable to check specific operating hours and entry fees before your visit, as these can vary.
Conservation Focus – I am one of the older and larger zoos in Madhya Pradesh, playing a role in animal breeding programs and conservation efforts. Keep an eye out for any special exhibits or recently arrived animals during your visit.
