Manjhi's Legacy – The existence of this road is thanks to Dashrath Manjhi, often revered as the "Mountain Man." After his wife, Falguni Devi, tragically died due to the lack of timely medical care – the nearest hospital was 70 km away and required traversing a mountain – he vowed to carve a direct path. For 22 tireless years (1960-1982), he used only a hammer and chisel to cut a 110-meter-long, 9.1-meter-wide, and 7.6-meter-deep path, significantly shortening the journey through the hills.
