High-Altitude Destination – This is Zero Point, also known as Yumesamdong, a breathtaking high-altitude destination in North Sikkim. It marks the end of the motorable road in the picturesque Yumthang Valley , sitting at an elevation of around 15,300 feet (4,663 meters) above sea level. It's very close to the Indo-China border, with civilian access restricted beyond this point.

Permits and Preparation – Access to Zero Point requires special permits, which are usually arranged through tour operators. The journey involves a challenging drive on winding mountain roads. Due to the extreme altitude and thin air, it’s crucial to dress in multiple layers of warm clothing, stay hydrated, and be aware of symptoms of acute mountain sickness (AMS). It's advisable to spend some time acclimatizing in lower regions of Sikkim before heading up.
