Lightning Deity – The temple holds immense spiritual and cultural importance for the local community. It's famously known for its Shiva Lingam, which is said to be struck by lightning frequently. Locals believe the lightning absorbs divine blessings and protects the region from calamities. After each strike, the temple priest diligently reassembles the shattered Lingam using butter and *sattu* (a type of flour).
What to Expect
Panoramic Trek – Expect a rewarding journey to reach this sacred spot. The temple is accessible via a moderate trek of about 3 km (around 2 miles) from the nearest road point. The path offers breathtaking, panoramic views of the entire Kullu Valley and Parvati Valley , making the climb an experience in itself. The atmosphere at the top is serene and spiritually charged.
Best Time to Visit
Pleasant Weather – I recommend visiting during the summer months (May to June) or early autumn (September to October). The weather is generally pleasant for trekking, and the skies are clear, offering the best views. Winters can bring heavy snowfall, making the trek challenging or even inaccessible.

Respectful Conduct – As a religious site, respectful conduct is expected. Dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees. It's customary to remove your shoes before entering the main temple area. Photography might be restricted inside the sanctum, so observe local signage or ask. Basic facilities like small shops for offerings are usually available near the temple.
