Hajj Rituals – For me, Mina holds profound spiritual significance as a crucial site for several rites of the Hajj pilgrimage. It is where pilgrims spend the nights of the 8th, 11th, 12th, and sometimes 13th of Dhul Hijjah, performing rituals like the symbolic stoning of the devil (Ramy al-Jamarat) at the Jamarat Bridge . It commemorates Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) refusal to succumb to temptation.

What to expect
Pilgrim Campsite – During Hajj, I find Mina to be an awe-inspiring sight of millions of white tents stretching across the valley, creating the world's largest temporary city. Expect extremely high crowd levels, a strong sense of communal living, and a deeply spiritual atmosphere focused on devotion and reflection. Outside the Hajj period, it is largely empty and quiet.
